The much-awaited Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, No. 2 of 2025 has now received the assent of the Hon’ble President, and is officially notified as the Income-tax Act, 2025. With this, several important changes in the Income-tax law have come into effect from FY 2026-27.

Taxpayers, professionals, and businesses can now access and download the latest version of the Income Tax Act, 2025 along with the newly incorporated provisions.

Gazette publication / commencement: The text of the Income-Tax Act, 2025 has been published as an Extraordinary Gazette, which states that (unless specified otherwise) the Act is to come into force on 1 April 2026; however specific provisions can be notified earlier or later by the Government.
