CBDT Extends Due Date for Filing Income Tax Return for AY 2024-25: Circular No. 13/2024

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued Circular No. 13/2024, extending the due date for furnishing the Income Tax Return (ITR) for Assessment Year (AY) 2024-25. This extension applies to certain taxpayers specified under clause (a) of Explanation 2 to sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The due date, previously set for October 31, 2024, has now been extended to November 15, 2024.

  1. While it may be for Diwali, but for sure the Income Tax filing portal is not working well at all. I request our Government to please take up the matter seriously enough with the concerned software company
