Temporary Downtime of TRACES Website

The TDS Reconciliation Analysis and Correction Enabling System (TRACES) website will undergo planned technical upgradation on January 30, 2025, from 09:00 PM to 11:59 PM.

Impact on Users:

  • During this period, all TRACES services including TDS statement filing, correction requests, and Form-16/Form-26AS downloads will be temporarily unavailable.
  • Tax deductors and taxpayers are advised to plan their activities accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
  • After the maintenance window, TRACES is expected to offer enhanced performance and system stability.

Release of New Utility Version 1.6 for Form-16 Part-B Generation

A new utility version 1.6 has been rolled out for generating Form-16 Part-B. Employers and tax deductors must download and use this latest version to generate Form-16 Part-B for the Financial Year 2023-24 (Assessment Year 2024-25).

Key Updates in Form-16 Part-B Utility Version 1.6:

Updated Features for accuracy in tax computations.
Bug Fixes & Performance Enhancements for seamless form generation.
Mandatory Compliance: Only the latest utility version must be used for Form-16 Part-B requests.

Action Required:

  • Employers/Deductors must update their Form-16 Part-B utility before generating and issuing TDS certificates to employees.
  • The updated utility can be downloaded from the TRACES portal.
  • Employees should ensure their employers use the latest version to avoid discrepancies in tax records.
