Contributions to the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account range from a minimum of ₹250 to a maximum of ₹1.5 lakh per year. The account matures either after 21 years from its opening or upon the girl’s marriage after she turns 18. Under this scheme, ₹3,000 is deposited in the name of eligible unmarried girls as a fixed deposit upon their enrollment in Class IX.
