Are you tired of manually logging in to the GST website every time?
With our simple Excel-based solution, you can automate the login process with just a click of a button. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Creation of Master Sheet for Customer Database like GST Login Credential:
- Create a new worksheet and name it “Customer Data and Filing Status”.
- Enter the following details for all your clients in different columns:
- S. No.
- Customer Name
- GST User Name
- Password
- (Note: You can add other information like GST No., Address, etc.)
Step 2: Creation of Automatic Login Sheet for Customers:
- Create a new worksheet and name it “Login”.
- Creating a List Box: Click on the Developer tab in Excel and click on List box to create a ListBox control. This List Box allows users to select clients from a list.
- Linking the List Box to Client Database: Under the Developer tab, click on “Properties” to specify the range of the client database from Excel worksheet “Customer Data and Filing Status” as the input range for the ListBox. Additionally, link the ListBox to a cell in the current worksheet, which will contain the index of the selected client from the ListBox.
- Using a Pivot Table for Retrieving User ID and Password: After selecting a client from the ListBox, set up a pivot table to retrieve the user ID and password of the selected client from the client database.
- Macro for Login Process: Write and execute a macro named “Login” that automates the login process through following steps :
6. Create a Button:
Go to the Insert tab in Excel and click on the Shapes button.
Choose a shape (like a rectangle) to create a button on your worksheet.
Draw the button on the worksheet.
7. Modify Button Appearance:
Right-click on the button you just created and select Format Control.
Adjust the font size, color, and any other properties to your liking.
Give name to button “LOGIN”
8. Assign Macro to Button:
Right-click on the button again and select Assign Macro.
Choose the Login macro from the list and click OK.
9. Operate the Login Process:
Now, whenever you click on the button, it will execute the Login macro.
This macro opens Google Chrome, goes to the GST website’s login page, fills in the username and password (from cells G1 and H1 on the “Login” sheet), and simulates pressing the Enter key.
That’s it! You’ve created a button in Excel that, when clicked, will automatically log in to the GST website using the provided credentials. Make sure to save your workbook as a macro-enabled file (.xlsm) to retain the VBA code. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, feel free to ask!
